Winter 2025 Art Exhibition

  • The Resource Exchange (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

This seasonally rotating show at the reCreate gallery in the Resource Exchange features local artists who make material reuse and/or environmental themes as integral part of their creative process.

My piece, “Still Life with Bee”, 23” x 19”, is a fresh and vibrant acrylic painting over a very tired old still life floral picture on particle board. I wanted to repurpose this piece as I love the pewter-colored frame and breathe new life into it. The Japanese paper (tablecloth) was sourced from the Resource Exchange.

HUDDLE

Join us for one of Vox Populi’s biggest nights of the year, our Preview Night for Huddle: A $99 Exhibition. For the past three years, this event has brought together 200+ attendees, and we’re expecting an even bigger turnout in 2025.

I’m honored to have 2 pieces in this show! Be the first to see and collect works from 100+ artists from across the country, all donated to celebrate the vibrancy of DIY and experimental art spaces. Every artwork is priced at $99, and artist names are revealed only after purchase—so come ready to discover your next favorite piece.

Highlights of the night:

  • Free tickets (but they sell out quickly so reserve yours now!)

  • A free champagne toast for the first 99 guests through the door

  • Chill music and delicious snacks

  • First access to incredible, affordable art from emerging and established artists alike

All proceeds from Huddle go directly back into Vox Populi’s mission: supporting artists in Philadelphia and beyond through public programming, exhibitions, performances, and artist honorariums.

This is one of Philly’s most beloved art events, so make sure you arrive early, grab a glass of champagne, and find that perfect piece to take home.

Exhibition on view through 12/14.

160th Anniversary Show of the Photographic Society of Philadelphia

160th Anniversary Show of the Photographic Society of Philadelphia

In 1862, the Photographic Society of Philadelphia was formed.

Famous distinguished members from the past include: Constant Guillou, amateur photographer; Coleman Sellers, inventor of the Kinematoscope; Dr. Paul Beck Goddard, who in 1839 made the world’s first instantaneous photograph; John Carbutt, inventor of the gelatin dry plate and celluloid cut film, and Frederick E. Ives, distinguished scientist.

The initial objective of the Society was “to increase and diffuse knowledge of the natural laws which relate to the action of light, and particularly to promote improvements in the art of photography.” Developed 160 years ago, this philosophy is as fresh as if it had been written today.

I'm thrilled to have work again in this annual show now that in-person exhibits have resumed!

My 3 pieces on exhibit are:

* Our Lady of Congress Hall (Cape May, NJ), archival pigment print (shown in thumbnail)

* Lace Silhouettes Lingerie, chromogenic print

* #philly_mannequins get married, archival pigment print
